HUNTINGTON, W.Va. | With South Alabama holding a one-run lead in the bottom of the fourth, Marshall's Abby Darnley's one-out grand slam proved to be the difference as the Thundering Herd took game one of the Sun Belt Conference series, 5-2 Friday night at Dot Hicks Field.

•   In the fourth, Marshall loaded the bases with one out after three walks and Darnley drove a 3-2 pitch off Jag starter
Ryley Harrison (12-10) over the right-center wall for a grand slam to give the Thundering Herd the lead (MARSH, 5-2)

Ansleigh Smith was the lone Jag to record multiple hits in the loss as she was 2-for-3, and Lively and Mambelli both doubled
