MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's basketball fell to Louisiana on Saturday at the Mitchell Center, 57-54. The Jaguars split the home-and-home series with the Ragin' Cajuns, 1-1.
KEY MOMENTS:
- The Jaguars' backcourt started strong in the first quarter, holding the Ragin' Cajuns to nine points. Meanwhile, Amyah Sutton drained two three-pointers, shooting 67.0% from beyond the arc.
- Louisiana turned it up a notch in the second quarter, scoring 21 points while holding the Jaguars to 12.
- The Ragin' Cajuns' field-goal percentage jumped from 23.5% in the first quarter to 47.1% in the second quarter. They would end the second quarter with a 7-0 run and four Jaguar turnovers, leading South Alabama 30-26 at the half.
- South Alabama's offense started clicking in the third quarter, six Jags contributing to their 15-point quarter.
- Louisiana went on an 8-0 run in the fourth quarter, but it was ended by a Jaguar trip to the charity stripe and a jumper from Amyah Sutton. Despite the effort, the Jaguars would lose 57.54.

- "A couple of times in the first half, we drove into traffic for no reason. We drove into traffic, and it created a turnover. We had 14 in a half, and we cut it down to six, but then there was a lid on the basket. I'm going ot take a look at slowing down the pace offensively, because when we do run our stuff, we get really good shots."
