Jaguars to Face Western Michigan in Second Round of MAC-SBC Challenge

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt and Mid-American Conferences announced the second round of matchups for the 2025-26 MAC-SBC Challenge on Tuesday, and South Alabama women's basketball will travel to face Western Michigan at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 7, in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The MAC-SBC Challenge is a scheduling alliance in which 13 Mid-American teams compete against 13 Sun Belt teams. These matchups were determined using real-time NET rankings and the Ordinal Sports group. Relevant NET data, geography and the frequency of past contests are also considered in scheduling. Each game will be carried on an ESPN platform.

Sun Belt schools hosted the first round in November, and MAC schools will host the second round. The Jaguars hosted the Akron Zips on Nov. 3, resulting in a dominant 87-63 victory.

The matchup will be the first time the Jaguars face the Broncos in program history. The Broncos posted a 4-8 start to the season, with wins against Milwaukee, Loyola University Chicago, Vaparaiso and Buffalo.
