NEW ORLEANS – South Alabama men's basketball junior forward Adam Olsen was named Sun Belt Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Olsen delivered a standout performance in the Jaguars' lone contest of the week, leading South Alabama to a wire-to-wire 87–71 victory over Georgia Southern on Saturday afternoon on ESPNU at the Mitchell Center.
The junior poured in a game-high 22 points, shooting 8-of-17 (.471) from the field and an efficient 6-of-10 (.600) from three-point range, accounting for six of the Jaguars' seven made three-pointers on the day. Olsen added seven rebounds, one assist, and a steal, showcasing a complete all-around effort on both ends of the floor.
The performance marked Olsen's 11th double-figure scoring effort of the season and his ninth 20-point outing, which leads the Sun Belt Conference this year.
Olsen becomes the fifth Jaguar over the last three seasons to earn Sun Belt Player of the Week honors. Chaze Harris received the award earlier this season, while Barry Dunning Jr. and Myles Corey earned the distinction during the 2024-25 campaign. Samuel Tabe was recognized on Feb. 27, 2024.
