MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama Soccer (7-2, 3-0) is set to face Appalachian State (4-5-1, 0-2-1) in a road match at 4 p.m. ET on Friday at the Appalachian Soccer Stadium in Boone, N.C.

SERIES HISTORY:
The Jags are 12-1-1 overall against the Mountaineers, their last match resulting in a 3-1 victory at The Cage in Mobile, Ala., on Oct. 5, 2023.

SCOUTING THE JAGS:

• The Jags head into the match after shutting out Southern Miss 4-0 on the road. The victory marked South's fifth shutout for the season.
• The program is ranked 12th in the nation in scoring offense (2.67 goals per game), 20th in points per game (7.33), 22nd in goal differential (16) and 24th in total goals (24).
• Aliya Gomes leads the Sun Belt with six points in league play.
• South is led offensively by redshirt-sophomore Andrea Iljkic, who has recorded five goals, two assists and 12 shots on goal this season.
• Keeper Sierra Giorgio is tied for first in the Sun Belt in shutouts (3).
• Sofia Ferrante ranks 19th in the nation and first in the Sun Belt in assists per game (.63).

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS:

• The Mountaineers head into the match after falling to Louisiana in their conference home opener, moving them to 0-2-1 in league play.
• Sophomore Ellie Garrison leads App State in goals (4) and points (8) and is 12th in the nation in game-winning goals (3).
