MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama Soccer is set to host Coastal Carolina at 6 p.m. on Thursday at The Cage in Mobile, Ala. The Jags last faced the Chanticleers in last year's Sun Belt Conference Tournament, in which they lost 1-2.
SERIES HISTORY:
The Jags are 9-3 overall against the Chanticleers, their last match resulting in a 1-2 loss at the SBC Tournament in Foley, Ala., on Nov. 4, 2024.
SCOUTING THE JAGS:
South heads into the match after shutting out Louisiana 3-0 in the conference opener. The match marked the Jags' fourth shutout of the season and
Sierra Giorgio's third in goal. The team's goals were recorded by
Sofia Ferrante,
Aliya Gomes and
Zamiyah Hill, who now leads the team in goals (3) and shots (22).
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS:
The Chanticleers head into the match after a 1-1 draw against James Madison, the reigning conference champions, on Saturday. Coastal is led by Dolcie O'Connor, a sophomore midfielder with three goals, six points and eight shots on target (out of 16).
