MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama softball will head to the "Lone Star" State this weekend for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series versus Texas State. The two teams are scheduled to open the series on Friday night at 6 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium, with game two of the series set for a 2 p.m. start on Saturday, and the series finale set for Sunday at 12 p.m.

South Alabama (15-20, 4-4 SBC) enters the conference series at Texas State (22-11, 5-4 SBC) after falling twice to Southern Miss last weekend in Mobile.
Gabby Stagner recorded her 36th career home run in the series opener to tie Kamdyn Kvistad's program mark a week after becoming career RBI leader at South (140). Stagner (.357) leads the team in several offensive categories as she has nine home runs, holds a .704 slugging percentage and a team-high 33 RBI. She is tied for second in triples (3), and also ranks among the league leaders in home runs (t-fifth), RBI (seventh) and slugging percentage (10th). Stagner has a team-best 11 multi-RBI games this season and also leads the team in multi-hit games with nine.
Presley Lively is batting .287 and the true freshman leads the Sun Belt triples (4) and is tied for second in walks (22), while her 15 stolen bases are second-most in the league and she is tied for eighth in runs scored (32). Lively has scored two or more runs in nine games this spring, and she also has eight multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games which both rank as second-most on the Jaguar roster. Eight of Lively's hits have gone for extra bases, including an inside-the-park home run. Her four triples are tied for 21st in the NCAA, and as a team South Alabama is tied for 27th nationally with 11.
Sidney Lee (.278) leads the club with nine doubles, which are tied for fifth in the league.
Olivia Branstetter (.284) is tied for second on the club in RBI with Lively as both have driven in 17, and her 18 walks are second most. Both her and
Megan Davidson also lead the team in HBP with seven each.
Led by Lively, South is currently tied for second with Louisiana in the Sun Belt and is tied for 43rd nationally in walks with 127. As a team, South leads the league in triples, and is second in hit-by-pitch (32) and sacrifice flies (14).

Ryley Harrison leads the club with seven wins and the sophomore holds a 2.88 earned run average, while she has also struck out 71 batters. In conference play, Harrison has allowed just six earned runs in her 32.1 innings of work for a 1.30 ERA, which is third lowest among league pitchers, while she has also struck out 32, which is second most. Harrison ranks in the Top 10 of the league in ERA (fifth), innings pitched (seventh), strikeouts (ninth), strikeouts looking (t-sixth) and saves (t-third).
