MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama softball welcomes Sun Belt Conference leader ULM for a three-game series this weekend at Jaguar Field, the final home series of the season. The two teams are scheduled to open the series on Friday night at 6 p.m., with game two of the series set for a 3 p.m. start on Saturday, and the series finale set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

South Alabama (17-28, 6-11 SBC) enters its final SBC home series versus ULM (33-16, 13-5 SBC) after falling 1-0 in extra innings to Auburn Wednesday night.
Over their last four games, the Jaguars have been held to just one run and have just 12 hits after being shutout versus the Tigers and held to one hit, while leaving 26 runners on base over the four-game stretch. Over the last 16 games, South has won just three games and in its 13 losses, the Jaguars are averaging 1.9 runs (24) per game and 4.3 hits (56) per game, and have been held to five or fewer hits in 12 of those 13 games. South has also left a total of 75 runners on base in those 13 losses.
Gabby Stagner (.336) leads the team in several offensive categories as she has 10 home runs, holds a .664 slugging percentage and a team-high 36 RBI. She is tied for third in triples (3), and also ranks among the league leaders as she ninth in RBI, and 10th in both home runs and OPS. Stagner has a team-best 12 multi-RBI games this season and is also tied for the team lead in multi-hit games with nine.
Presley Lively is batting .276 and the true freshman ranks second in the Sun Belt triples (4) and is tied for the league lead in walks (30), while her 15 stolen bases are tied for sixth most in the SBC and she is tied for eighth in runs scored (40). Lively has scored two or more runs in 11 games this spring, and she also has nine multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games, the latter tied with
Olivia Branstetter for second-most on the Jaguar roster. Of Lively's 35 hits, 10 have gone for extra bases, including an inside-the-park home run.
Branstetter (.312) and
Megan Davidson have been hit by pitch 10 and seven times, respectively, which ranks in the Top 10 of the league.
As a team, South is tied for second in triples, and ranks third in hit-by-pitch (40) – 24th in the NCAA – and tied for fourth in sacrifice flies (13).
In the circle,
Ryley Harrison leads the club with seven wins and the sophomore holds a 3.02 earned run average, while she has also struck out 78 batters. In conference play, Harrison has allowed just 12 earned runs in her 42.1 innings of work for a 1.98 ERA, which is fifth lowest among league pitchers, while she has also struck out 39, which is tied for fourth, and her 13 strikeouts looking are tied for third in league play. Harrison ranks in the Top 10 of the league in ERA (seventh), strikeouts (ninth), strikeouts looking (seventh) and saves (t-fourth).
