MOBILE, Ala. - South Alabama was unable to string together hits as the Jags fell in the series opener.
Louisiana tapped in back-to-back hits after the leadoff runner reached on an error, scoring one. The starters for both sides were then able to work the next four innings with no scoring. Louisiana scored their next two on a double down the left field line.

The Jags threatened early offensively, with a leadoff triple from
Brennan Holt in the third inning and two walks to load the bases before Louisiana was able to earn the final out without any runs scored.
A sac fly added to the Ragin' Cajun lead, and back-to-back HBPs scored two after the bases were loaded. An RBI single scored a third runner for the 7-0 lead moving into the bottom of the ninth.
Lucas Ismaili bounced a ball out of the park for a leadoff ground-rule double, and
John Smith III scored him with one out to spare on a single to left field for the Jaguars' lone score that came in the bottom of the ninth.
