South is coming off a successful 2-0 weekend in which they downed Troy and Georgia State in Mobile. The Jaguars are riding high on a five-game winning and have extended their home match winning streak to 26. Chems Doha Zeghlouli was exceptional for South this weekend. The junior from Paris, France went undefeated in singles and doubles action to lead South to a dominant showing. The latest ITA rankings have South ranked 48th. 

App State has maintained a 7-4 record at the midway part of their season. The Mountaineers split their conference opener this weekend, dropping their first match to Old Dominion, then bouncing back with a win against James Madison. 

South leads the all-time series against App State 7-2, with last season's matchup resulting in the Jaguars grabbing a 4-1 victory.

The Thundering Herd have had a hot start to their season, going 11-3 to start the season. Marshall dropped their conference opener to James Madison this week and also came up short to Old Dominion.
