BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -Â South Alabama scored all three runs in the same frame, but was unable to hold the lead as UAB won with four runs after, 5-3.

UAB loaded the bases in the fifth, scoring one off an infield fielder's choice, but
Zach Willingham was able to work out of the jam. An RBI double scored one more in the seventh for the Blazers.

Head Coach Mark Calvi
They did a better job with two strikes than we did. We struck out more than they did. Their hitters did a better job than our hitters with two strikes. Their pitchers did a better job than our pitchers with two strikes. We had too many walks. They're a tough team. They're a good team, and they earned their way. They fouled off, it would be 0-2, 3-2, and they'd have six foul balls, and that they did a good job fouling balls off and getting on base and then getting the timely hit when it mattered. That was the story of the game. I thought our guys played hard. Little misfortune on the overturned home run call would have put us ahead. And I probably would pitch it a little bit differently, but they overturned it. But we just gave him too many free passes today. You know, that's, that was the story, and just, just not that timely hit. I told the guys after the game they played hard. We're just 4-2, and we haven't clicked yet. You know, I thought we we won the four games because we're better than the other teams last weekend, and these are two evenly matched clubs, and they're (UAB) clicking right now, and a lot of their guys are clicking on all cylinders, and we have a lot of guys who aren't, and to be in that position, and really could have won today's ballgame, I think says something to the effort of our guys so our, you know, we'll show up tomorrow.
