South Alabama Announces Neutral-Site Game with New Mexico State

MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama men's basketball has added a neutral-site matchup against New Mexico State to its 2025–26 schedule. The Jaguars and Aggies will tip off at 6 p.m. CT on Dec. 2 at the Leonard E. Merrell Center in Katy, Texas.

The contest will be audio-only, with live coverage available for Jags fans on the Jags Radio Network. There will be no live video stream for the game. The Merrell Center has become a premier college basketball venue, serving as the host site for the Southland Conference Men's and Women's Championship Tournaments for each of the past five seasons.

South Alabama had the matchup tentatively listed on its original schedule, released Oct. 15, but final contracts were not completed until this week.

The addition creates a seventh stop on the Jaguars' month-long road swing, which also includes trips to St. Petersburg (Fla.), Jacksonville, Birmingham, San Antonio, and Johnson City (Tenn.) before returning home in mid-December.

New Mexico State, a member of Conference USA, enters its third season under head coach Jason Hooten and opened the 2025–26 campaign with an 83–72 win over Adams State on Nov. 4
