NOTES

– Saturday's contest will serve as South Alabama's homecoming game for the 2025 season. This is the third time in the last-four seasons that the Jaguars will play a team from Louisiana for their homecoming game. The Jags played ULM in 2022 and 2024 and won both of those contests.

– With a win against Georgia State, South Alabama kept its hopes for a bowl game alive. For the second-straight week, the Jags will play in a game in which the winner will stay alive in the hunt for bowl eligibility while the loser will be eliminated.

– Linebacker Tirrell Johnson Jr. was named Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday after leading the Jags to a win over Georgia State. Johnson set a career high with 10 tackles, and then forced takeaways on the final-two possessions of the game. Johnson forced a fumble to get the ball back to South's offense so it could take the lead, then intercepted a pass on the final drive of the game to secure the victory.

– Cornerback Nehemiah Chandler ranks third in the nation in passes defended per game at 1.50. Chandler set a new career high with three pass breakups in South's win over Georgia State.

– 38 has been the magic number for South Alabama this season as the Jags scored 38 in both wins. South beat Morgan State 38-21 before defeating Georgia State 38-31 to snap a six-game losing skid.

– South Alabama set a new season-high for total offense in the win over the Panthers with 468 yards. The Jags passed for a season-high 280 yards while adding 188 yards on the ground.
