MOBILE, Ala. – The South Alabama Track and Field program is sending three athletes to the land of the Great Lakes to compete in the Jack Johnson Classic hosted by the University of Minnesota on Thursday, Jan. 24, and Friday, Jan.25.

Jack Johnson Classic
After a dominant performance from their throwers last weekend, the Jaguars will send Sun Belt Field Athlete of the Week Sebastian Loschner and rising Sophomore Samuel Mika to compete in the shot put and weight throw on Saturday for the men's team.
Flora Dupans will be the lone Jaguar woman to participate in the weight throw, and the shot put Saturday afternoon.
Last Time Out
Dupans registered two top 10 finishes at the Samford Invitational last weekend, placing sixth in the shot put with a throw of 14.50 meters (47'7") before taking eighth in the weight throw with a personal record toss of 14.86 meters (48' 9).
Loschner is coming off a fourth-place finish in the shot put after launching a throw of 17.98 meters (59'0"). He followed up that outing with a 10th-place finish in the weight throw with a heave of 17.05 meters (55 '11.25").
Mika also had an impressive opening weekend, placing 11th in the weight throw with a throw of 16.76 meters (55 '0) and a 12th place finish in the shot put with a 14.77 meter (48'5.5") toss.
