HAMMOND, La.- The South Alabama Women's Soccer team grabbed a 2-1 victory over Southeastern Louisiana Sunday afternoon.
After a stalemate between both sides. the Lions would get on the board first in the 23rd minute to take the 1-0 advantage. The Jags responded quickly, with
Irene Campo converting on a free kick to even the score. Shortly after,
April Lantaigne connected with
Monique Gray to give South a 2-1 lead. After a lightning delay, South Alabama headed into the half with a 2-1 lead.
After another lightning delay, South exerted control against the Lions at the start of the second half by maintaining a strong defensive presence. South's defense continued to hold strong as the Lions struggled to move the ball down the field as well as prevent them from creating any offense. South showed their prowess and took home the 2-1 victory.
