RUSTON, La.- The South Alabama Women's Soccer team notched their first victory of the season with a 1-0 victory on the road against Louisiana Tech.
The Jags got on the board early as
Irene Campo connected with
April Lantaigne for a goal at the 40th minute to give South the 1-0 lead. South continued to control the ball on both sides for the remained of the first half. At the eight minute mark,
Monique Gray dished a perfect pass to
Irene Campo to give the Jags the commanding 2'0 lead at half.
The Jaguars continued to show their prowess as they exerted control early in the second half, establishing a solid defensive front. South continued to play strong defense as the second half winded down, holding the opponents at bay. The Jags would cruise to the 2-0 victory, which also marks the first win under the
Chris Hennessey era for South.
UP NEXT
The Jags will close out their trip of Louisiana as they face Southeastern Louisiana on Sunday with a 1 PM match time.
