MOBILE, Ala. — Redshirt senior safety Jaden Voisin was one of 90 defensive standouts named to the 2024 Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List, the Maxwell Football Club announced Monday afternoon. 

This marks Voisin's eighth preseason honor of the season as he has been named to the HERO Sports All-American team,  Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, Preseason All-Sun Belt Team, and Phil Steele's and Athlon's Preseason All-Sun Belt Teams. He also landed a spot on the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 List. 

Voisin recorded a team-high four interceptions in 2023 with seven pass breakups. He finished fourth on the team in tackles with 66, 29 of which were solo takedowns. He recorded two tackles for loss on the year and forced one fumble. His efforts led to him being selected by the All-Sun Belt First Team.

The Bednarik Award has been presented annually to the most outstanding defensive player in college football since 1994, named in honor of Chuck "Concrete Charlie" Bednarik, who was an All-American player at the University of Pennsylvania and later a multiple-year All-Pro linebacker and center for the Philadelphia Eagles. He is a member of the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame and was the last NFL player to be a full-time player on both offense and defense.
