MOBILE, Ala.- It was another big year for South Alabama Athletics in 2023-24. The Jaguars earned multiple big wins, championships, postseason appearances and awards.
Throughout the month of July, USAJaguars.com will recap some of the biggest storylines from the past year as we get ready for another big season of competition in 2024-25.
Up next, we look at another regular season Sun Belt Conference title for South Alabama Soccer.
Soccer Claims 7th Sun Belt Regular Season Title
South Alabama Soccer comes off another successful campaign in which they posted a 16-1-3 record while going an impressive 8-0-2 in conference play. The Jaguars claimed the regular season title in the 2023 campaign with a dominating 4-0 victory over Texas State.
The Jaguars opened up the game with an
Amber Fortenberry goal to take the early advantage. The Jaguars continued to stay hot and hold the Bobcats at bay with goals from
Gabby Hollar and
Irene Campo.
Gracie Wilson would seal the deal for the Jaguars with a goal in the 72nd minute to help South Alabama claim its seventh Sun Belt regular season championship.
