MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's basketball head coach
Yolisha Jackson announced Monday the addition of seven signees for 2024-25. The signees include three incoming freshmen and four transfers.
Terren Coffil
5'7 – Freshman – Guard
New Orleans, Louisiana
Chalmette High School
Terren Coffil played for Chalmette High School, after spending her freshman and sophomore seasons at John Curtis Christian High School. Coffil is a four-time Louisiana state champion and was named the State Championship MVP her freshman year. As a sophomore. Coffil finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, leading John Curtis to another state championship. Coffil also earned Second Team All-Metro and First Team All-District honors.
Coffil is also the first women's Division I signee in any sport for Chalmette High School.
Coffil played club basketball for Lake City Pride and is an Alamo City Classic Champion and a Basketball on the Bayou Silver bracket champion.
Aroa Mangas
5'9 – Freshman – Guard
Salamanca, Spain
IES La Laboral
Aroa Mangas played for IES La Laboral, as well as CD Unibasket, in Spain. She is also a part of Elite Sports Academy, an academy made for women's basketball players in Spain who want to play in the United States. Mangas played in the Spanish U18 Championship and is a two-time U16 three-on-three champion.
Princess Okafor Nweze
6'1 – Freshman – Forward
Malaga, Spain
Ies Mar Alboran
Princess Okafor is a 2024 graduate of Ies Mar Alboran in Malaga. She played club basketball with Cab Estepona for eight years as a forward. With her club team, she is a three-time Champion of Andalucia (2017, 2018, 2022) and was named the best player in the playoffs in 2018.
Alicia Spann
6'3 – Junior – Center
Sumter, SC
Daytona State
Alicia Spann is a transfer from Daytona State, where she spent the 2023-24 season. Spann played in 30 games – while starting six – and averaged 7.1 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game. Her season high came against Tallahassee Community College, totaling 17 points.
Spann spent the 2022-23 season at Chipola College, where she appeared in 16 games, averaging 1.4 points per game and 1.0 rebounds per game.
Spann played club basketball for Aj'a Wilson Elite in Columbia, South Carolina for two years as a center.
Amyria Walker
5'4 – Junior – Guard
Dallas, TX
Angelina College
Amyria Walker is a transfer from Angelina College, where she spent the 2023-24 season, averaging 19.8 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 41.4% from the field and 33.8% from deep. Walker and the Roadrunners were Conference Co-Champions after finishing 16-3. After her sophomore campaign, Walker was named the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches JUCO Player of the Year, and earned NJCCA First Team All-American honors. Walker was also named a WBCA All-American and Region XIV MVP.
Walker spent the 2022-23 season at Blinn College, appearing in 31 games and averaging 7.2 ppg and 2.3 rpg.
A 2022 graduate of Burleson Centennial High School, Walker lettered in both basketball and track. Walker averaged 36 points per game, totaling 566 her senior season and finishing her career with 1,616. She holds the record for more threes in a game (7) and most field goals in a game (14).
Daniela Gonzalez
6'0 – Junior – Forward
Jamundi, Colombia
University of South Florida
Daniela Gonzalez is a transfer from South Florida, where she spent the last two seasons. In her sophomore campaign she 6.1 points per game while bringing down 3.7 rebounds per game. She also tacked on 14 blocks and 17 steals in 32 appearances. She logged her first career double-double (13 points, career-best 11 rebounds) at Tulsa. The sophomore totaled a career-best 16 points against UT Arlington.
During her freshman season, Gonzalez played in all 34 games for the Bulls, averaging 4.1 points per game and pulling down 3.3 rebounds per contest.
Gonzalez is a 2022 graduate of Central Pointe Academy in Kissimmee, Fla., where she averaged 16.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game as a senior. She was named the 2022 Sunshine Independent Athletic Association Player of the Year and won the three-point shooting contest at The Grind Session - the International elite prep basketball circuit - in Arizona where she was tabbed a 2022 All-Star. She also set the single-game three-point shooting record at The Grind Session with nine threes.
Gonzalez brings international experience to Mobile, representing Columbia in the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup, averaging 6.4 ppg and 5.6 rpg in five appearances. She also spent the 2022 summer with the Colombian Senior National Team in the FIBA South American Women's Championship. She averaged 4.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in 18 career outings with the Colombian Senior National Team.
Tara Green
6'3 – Senior – Center
West Helena, Ark
University of Illinois Chicago
Tara Green is a transfer from the University of Illinois Chicago, where she spent the 2023-24 season. Green appeared in 11 games for the Flames, averaging 4.3 points per game and 1.4 rebounds per game.
Green spent the 2022-23 season at New Orleans, appearing in 28 games and making two starts. She averaged 9.9 points per game and led the squad with 6.1 rebounds per game, scoring in double figures 12 times and earning five double-doubles.
Prior to New Orleans, she spent two seasons at Kilgore College, where she played in 44 contests with the Rangers, totaling 46 blocks, averaging more than a block a game.
Green is a 2020 graduate from Central HS in West Helena, Ark, where she lettered in basketball, volleyball, softball, track and was a majorette. She finished her career averaging 20 points per game, 10 rebounds per game and 5 blocks per game. Green was a two-time All-State selection and four-time All-Conference honoree.
