MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's basketball's
Yolisha Jackson announced the addition of Casey Ferguson ('23) to the 2026-27 staff on Monday. Ferguson, who played for the Jaguars for six years, will serve as Assistant Coach & Director of Player Development.
"We are thrilled to have Casey return to South Alabama," says Coach Jackson. "Her energy, organization and pride for her alma mater will take this program to new heights."
Ferguson played for South Alabama for six seasons, beginning in 2017 and finishing in 2023. During her time as a Jaguar, she led the team in three-point percentage twice and in total three-pointers once, also boasting the second-highest three-point percentage of any junior in Jaguar history (39.1%). She was also part of two Jaguar squads that earned postseason berths.
Notably, Ferguson earned many accolades, including a spot on ESPN's Top 10 Most Marketable Student-Athletes after gaining more than 2.4 million followers across various social media platforms by Aug. 2021. She also received the Jaguar Women's Basketball NCAA and Shirley Holt Jaguar Spirit awards in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
Ferguson returns to South after serving as an assistant coach at Spring Hill for three seasons.
