MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama will compete in its third tournament in as many weeks when it competes at the Bama Beach Bash hosted by UAB at the Gulf Shores Golf Club.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament is set to get underway on Sunday morning with a 8 a.m start on the par 72, 6,002-yard course.Â
The 18-team field includes Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Drake, Jacksonville, Linderwood, North Alabama, North Carolina A&T, Ohio, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston State, Southern Illinois, Tarleton State, UAB, UNC-Asheville and Winthrop, along with the Jaguars.
Live scoring will be available through GolfStat.com.
Last season, South Alabama finished fifth among the 15-team field. Four Jag golfers finished in the top 25 with
Greta Rietdorf,
Carlota Garcia, and
Cassidy Lambert each tying for 18th overall, while
Malia Uyeshiro tied for 25th overall.
The Jaguar lineup will feature
Grace Suter playing as the number one, followed by Uyeshiro, Lambert, Elise Riley and
Hannah Ogea.Â
Suter is averaging a team-low 76.7 strokes per round, while Uyeshiro (77.6) is close behind her. Lambert leads the team with 42 birdies this season, while Suter has recorded 39.Â
