QUOTABLE
Head coach Yolisha Jackson:
"One thing we talked about after the game was that Monroe always came back and answered with big shots. Unfortunately, we had some good looks, but could not answer. We cut it to seven and instead of getting a stop and cutting it to five, they go score and now it's back up to nine. We just could not answer. Credit to Monroe for coming in and being able to make the big shots. You look at their roster – with Nunu (Daisha Bradford) who is from Mobile and transferred from Clemson, Jakayla Johnson who transferred from Auburn, Brianna Harris who transferred in and is from Mobile, Sania Wells who transferred, those kids have been in high pressure moments and are older. That is what we are getting to here. We start four sophomores and a junior – kids who do not have that type of experience. When a game gets close, until you have been in those moments, it is hard to come away with the winning plays. Hats off to them. I will say this, we do not quit. We need to some better things defensively. This is a team, that over the last four weeks, you can see growth. We are just trying to get better, and we want to be the team people don't want to play in Pensacola. Hats off to my kids for continuously believing in the process."
