South Draws Texas State in Defensive Battle

Box Score SAN MARCOS, Tex.- The Jags battled it out with Texas State in a hard-fought 0-0 draw.

The first half proved to be a back-and-forth affair with both sides playing stellar defense. The Jags managed to create several opportunities offensively but would struggle to convert. The hosts would also find several offensive opportunities but would be met headfirst by the stone wall that proved to be South's defense. Both teams would enter the half scoreless.

South would push the tempo as the second half began, garnering a multitude of scoring opportunities. South Alabama's defense remained strong, slowing down the Bobcats offense by preventing shots and limiting their time of possession. The Bobcats would threaten as time dwindled down, but would not convert thanks to Allison Luckhardt and the South defense. The Jags continued to battle and would hold off the Bobcats for a 0-0 draw.
