NOTES

– South Alabama will host ULM in what has been designated as its annual homecoming game. 2024 marks the 16th season of Jaguar Football.

– South Alabama's 25-9 victory over Troy in the Battle for the Belt means that the belt is back in Mobile for the first time since 2017. The win marked the fourth time that South Alabama has claimed victory in the rivalry and brought the belt back to Mobile.

– With its victory over the Trojans, South Alabama was the only FBS football team in the state of Alabama to win its matchup in week eight. Alabama, Auburn, UAB and Troy all lost during week eight. Jacksonville State was on bye and did not play.

– South Alabama safety Jaden Voisin recorded his ninth-career interception in the Jaguars' win over Troy. That moves him into a tie for the most-career interceptions in program history.

– After entering the season without a single field goal attempt in his career, South Alabama kicker Laith Marjan is 10-of-11 on field goal attempts this season. Marjan hit a career-best three field goals in South's victory over Troy.

QUOTES

"The crowd was phenomenal last Tuesday, so we want to welcome everybody back out here to Hancock Whitney Stadium at four o'clock against the Warhawks. They're a five and one team that is extremely well coached."

-Major Applewhite on the great crowd against Troy and the upcoming homecoming game

"They're extremely sound on defense. They play with great technique and great discipline. They kind of force you to beat them, but also have the right mixture of creating negative plays. They're tough. You've got to be pretty dialed into your own game plan when you're getting ready for these guys."

-Rob Ezell on the ULM defense

"They're obviously very physical. They're going to run the football. We've been preaching physicality and how it starts up front, and that will be the message this week for sure."

-Will Windham on preparing for ULM's offense
