AUBURN, Ala.- After a great outing at Mercer, the Jags wrapped up play at the ITA Regionals this Saturday with more impressive play.
Round of 64 Qualifying Singles Draw
In the qualifying singles draw,
Lara van der Merwe took down opposition from North Alabama 7-6, 6-3 to start the Jags off on the right foot.
Manal Ennaciri also grabbed a win with a 7-6, 6-4 win over Southern Miss with
Jade Marie to follow with a win of her own in a bye.
Rio Maeda would come up short in a hard-fought match against Tulane in which she fell 6-7, 6-1, 6-1.

In the main singles draw
Jade Marie earned a hard-fought three-set victory against Southeastern Louisiana as
Chems Doha Zeghlouli took down UAB 6-4, 6-4.
Delien Kleinhans would drop her set to Ole Miss in a 2-6, 1-6 defeat.
Manal Ennaciri came just short in a tough 4-6, 4-6 loss to McNeese State.
Round of 64 Main Doubles Draw
Marie and
Chems Doha Zeghlouli opened up doubles play with a bye win with
Lara van der Merwe and Manal Enniciri to follow with a dominating 8-2 victory over McNeese State.
Rio Maeda and
Delien Kleinhans would earn a win against UAB. In the consolation stage,
Rio Maeda would garner a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Louisiana Tech to close out the day.
Round of 32 Qualifying Singles Draw
Jade Marie opened the round of 32 qualifying draw with a three-set victory over Samford in the singles department with Manal Enniciri to follow with a dominating 6-0, 6-4 victory over ULM.
Lara van der Merwe would fall short to her opponent in a 1-6, 4-6 defeat.
Round of 32 Qualifying Singles Draw Consolation Stage
Rio Maeda would bounce back as she convincingly took down Louisiana Tech in a 6-3, 6-2 win.
Round of 32 Main Singles Draw
Rio Maeda would begin the main draw with a thrilling 8-7 victory over North Alabama. In the consolation bracket, Kleinhans would put together a dominating 6-1, 6-2 victory over Tulane.
Round of 32 Main Doubles Draw
The duo of Marie and
Chems Doha Zeghlouli would fall to their opposition to begin play with an 8-2 defeat. Van der merwe and Ennaciri would battle it out with their opponent but would come up short in an 8-2 loss. Maeda and Kleinhans would pick up the lone victory for South as they battled it out in a thrilling 8-7 win.
Round of 16
The duo of Maeda and Kleinhans would compete in the round of 16 but would come up just short in an 8-3 defeat to close out the tournament for South.

Jaco Keyser on the weekend, "Collectively one of the better regional tournaments we have had in quite a few years. Anytime you can win more than you lose at a regional it's a pretty strong indicator that you are moving in the right direction. Definitely starting to see improvement in overall play, maybe not as much as we would like at times but the improvement is definitely bubbling at the surface".
