NOTES
 
– Tuesday's matchup against the Trojans will mark South Alabama's first home game since Sept. 12 when the Jaguars defeated Northwestern State 87-10. USA has played three straight games on the road and four of its last-five contests have been away from home.
 
– South Alabama ranks first in the Sun Belt in total offense at 466.2 yards per game. The Jaguars have the top rushing attack in the league at 202.5 yards per contest while the passing attacks ranks fourth among Sun Belt Conference schools.
 
– South Alabama linebacker Blayne Myrick is the current leader in the Sun Belt Conference in total tackles with 50. That number ranks 14 in the country.
 
– Wide receiver Jamaal Pritchett ranks fifth in the country in touchdown receptions with six. His seven total touchdowns rank 19th nationally.
 
– Gio Lopez's 75-yard touchdown pass to Jamaal Pritchett at Arkansas State was the longest offensive play of the season for the Jaguars. It now serves as Lopez's longest-career pass, and Pritchett's longest-career reception.

ABOUT TROY
 
The Trojans enter Tuesday's Battle for the Belt with a 1-5 overall record and an 0-2 mark in Sun Belt Conference play. The Trojans beat Florida A&M in non-conference play, and have fallen to ULM and Texas State in league competition. Troy is coached by Gerad Parker who is in his first season at the helm of the program.
 
Due to injury, the Trojans have played three quarterbacks throughout the season. Goose Crowder is the current leader in passing yards and touchdowns with 543 and five respectively. Devonte Ross has been the top receiving target regardless of who is throwing the ball as he has 556 receiving yards and seven touchdown grabs. Damien Taylor leads the Trojan rushing attack with 399 yards and a pair of scores. Defensively, Jordan Stringer paces Troy with 43 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.

SERIES HISTORY
 
South Alabama and Troy play annually for the Battle of the Belt. This year's matchup marks the 10-year anniversary of the creation of the belt, though it will be the 13th all-time meeting between the Jaguars and the Trojans. Troy holds a 9-3 series lead.
