MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's soccer newcomer Chiara Singarella has been named to the Argentina roster for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia & New Zealand.
Singarella, a transfer from Kennesaw State, played one season for the Owls, appearing in 14 matches while starting 10. She scored her first collegiate goal and recorded an assist in a 2-1 win over Presbyterian. During her freshman season, Singarella totaled three or more shots four times and finished the year ranked third on the team in shots (23) and second in shots on goal (13).
Singarella played for the Argentina national team in both soccer and handball and participated in the South American Games in 2018 and was also selected to the Argentina team for both South American U-20 and U-17 Tournaments.
Singarella and the Argentina team will begin play in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup on July 24, where they will take on Italy in group play.
