MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama men's tennis finished the season ranked No. 23 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Associate (ITA) final mid-major rankings, the organization announced Wednesday.
In addition to the team ranking, the doubles duo of
Jack Clements and
Louis Delcour finished the season ranked No. 69 overall.
The Jags finished the 2023 slate with a 17-8 record, going 7-1 in Sun Belt action. South posted a perfect 9-0 record at home and now holds a 23-match winning streak at home, with the last lost in Mobile coming on Feb. 26, 2021.
The duo of Clements and Delcour finished 2-2 in dual match play and were 10-3 overall in the 2022-23 season, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Doubles Championships, but fell in the round of 32.
The Jags finished the year ranked No. 62 in the overall ITA rankings, the highest end-of-season ranking since 2019.
South Alabama is the highest ranked Sun Belt Conference team in the mid-major poll, with Old Dominion right behind the Jags at 24.
