South enters tied with the Ragin’ Cajuns for second place in the SBC

MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama will head to Louisiana this weekend for a huge Sun Belt Conference series. The three-game series is set to get underway Saturday with a doubleheader at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park First pitch of game one is set for 2 p.m. with game two to immediately follow. The series finale is set for Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

South Alabama (25-10) and Louisiana (27-10) enter the key SBC series tied for second in the league standings with an 8-1 record.

•    Meredith Keel enters the weekend series having had a hit in nine of her last 12 and reached base safely in 12 of 13 while Victoria Ortiz has had a hit in 14 of her last 17
•    Ortiz has driven in at least one run nine of her last 12 amassing 20 RBI
•    Over the last 16 games, Ortiz has recorded seven multi-hit games, had 11 extra-base hits, scored 13 runs and driven in 23 runs
