NEW ORLEANS, La. – Senior
Luminita Tutunaru of South Alabama Women's Tennis was named the Sun Belt Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon. The honor is the first of Tutunaru's career.
Tutunaru came out of last week with a 3-1 record, with two singles win, a doubles win and a doubles loss.
Both of Tutunaru's singles wins came from the number one spot in singles, beating Anna Babayan from Coastal Carolina 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday and winning 6-0, 6-1 over Silvia Martinez of Georgia Southern on Sunday.

Tereza Dejnozkova earned a 6-1 win over Coastal Carolina's doubles duo but fell 5-7 on Sunday to the number one due from Georgia Southern.
Tutunaru is 13-3 on the year and leads the Jaguar squad with 13 wins. She is 5-3 from the number one spot and is undefeated at 8-0 from number two singles.
