Jags sweep Alabama State on Tuesday night, set sights on Georgia State

South Alabama continues eight-game homestand on Friday against the Panthers

MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama finished off a sweep of Alabama State on Tuesday at Eddie Stanky Field, finishing off a 9-7 victory in 10 innings in a game resumed from April 11. They completed the day with a 9-4 victory in the nightcap to sweep the season series.

South Alabama erased a two-run deficit with a pair of runs in the ninth and four more in the 10th to win the night's first game. The Jags used a season-high 19 hits to pull away with the win, led by Micah Morgan going 3-for-6 with a pair of RBI. Meanwhile, six other Jags picked up a pair of hits each, with Colson Lawrence finishing with three runs batted in.

Lawrence (2-0) picked up the win, working 2.1 innings in relief and giving up a pair of runs on three hits with four strikeouts, while Grant Wood picked up his fifth save by recording the final two outs.

He gave way to Zach Willingham – the second of four pitchers on the night - in the sixth, making his first appearance in a month after being hit on a line drive against Georgia Southern. The sophomore logged 1.1 innings of hitless relief with a pair of strikeouts.
