MOBILE, Ala. – The South Alabama women's tennis closes out its home slate this weekend, hosting Southern Miss Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.
South is 14-5 (4-4) on the year, coming off two conference losses last weekend, falling to App State 1-4 and Marshall 0-4.
The Jaguars got just one singles win last weekend, coming from
Elysia Pool who got a 7-5, 6-3 win over Maggie Pate of App State.
Senior
Luminita Tutunaru is now 13-5 on the year and leads the Jaguar squad in wins. Freshmen
Tereza Dejnozkova and
Chems Doha Zeghlouli are 11-3 on the year and 11-2 on the year, respectively.
App State is 6-10 on the season and 1-8 in conference play. The Golden Eagles currently have a six-match losing streak, with their last win being a 5-2 win over Texas State on March 17.
South is 25-1 all-time against Southern Miss, with the lone loss coming in 2021 in Hattiesburg. South and Southern Miss will be meeting for the first time as conference opponents this season.
All home matches are held at Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts and admission is free.
