First pitch versus Nicholls set for 5 p.m.

MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama returns home Tuesday evening to open up a four-game homestand, beginning with Nicholls. First pitch versus the Colonels is set for 5 p.m. at Jaguar Field. 

Following the midweek contest, the Jags are also scheduled to welcome App State over the weekend for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series.

South Alabama (25-13) was swept by Louisiana over the weekend, falling 7-4 in game one, 8-0 in five innings in game two and 2-0 in Sunday's series finale. Nicholls (22-16) is coming off a series win over Lamar, splitting the first two games of the series and picking up a 1-0 win on Saturday to clinch the series.

Tuesday will mark "Bark In The Park" where fans can bring their pet. This is a dog friendly event, so fans are asked to go online and fill out a form for their animal friends (click here).

•    South Alabama is looking to snap its three-game losing streak in its final non-conference game of the spring and cap off an undefeated record versus Southland Conference opponents as the Jags are 2-0 this season against the league
•    Olivia Lackie enters the week one strikeout away from joining the 600-strikeout club and is just five strikeouts away from passing Farish Beard (603) for fourth on the all-time list
•    Lackie (27) is one shutout shy of moving into a tie with former Jag All-American and current pitching coach Hannah Campbell (28, 2011-14) for second in the career category
•    The junior RHP enters the week tied with three other players for the NCAA lead in solo shutouts as she has eight this spring, and also ranks 24th nationally in strikeouts with 141
•    Victoria Ortiz is also riding a career best 15-game reached base safely streak, while Meredith Keel has reached safely in eight straight, which matches a career best in the category, and a four-game hit streak
•    Keel (.357) leads the team in hits (40), while she has scored 26 runs, eight doubles and 17 RBI
•    Ortiz (.340) has 36 hits and leads the club in doubles (8), home runs (6), RBI (33) and 64 total bases
•    As a staff, USA has a 1.87 ERA and is holding opponents to a .206 batting average, ranking second and third, respectively in the SBC in those categories, while the Jags are fourth in the conference in strikeouts (249)
