South Alabama travels to compete in the Jane B. Memorial this weekend

MOBILE, Ala. | After hosting a pair of home tournaments the past two weekends, South Alabama will head back out on the road to compete at the Jane B. Moore Memorial hosted by 19th-ranked Auburn at Jane B. Moore Field. 

South Alabama (9-6) will open up play at the event with a pair of games on Friday versus Tennessee Tech (1-10) at 12:30 p.m. and versus the Tigers (16-1) at 5 p.m. USA will then take on Bowling Green (5-9) at 10 a.m. and the Tigers at 3 p.m. on Saturday, before closing out play at the tournament against Tennessee Tech on Sunday with first pitch set for noon.

•    Abby Allen has earned the starting nod in the designated player role in back-to-back outing, and has homered in each of those games, both on 3-0 pitches
•    Gabby Stagner (.333) has scored a run in nine of South's 15 games this spring
•    Stagner – who has six extra-base hits – has recorded five of South Alabama's 14 doubles
•    Marley Sims (.344) has reached base safely in six of her last seven
•    Meredith Keel (.372) has had at least one hit in 11 of South's 15 games this spring
•    Keel has five multi-hit outings this spring, while she has also driven in seven runs and scored seven runs
•    Sasha Willems (.282) is riding a six-game hit streak and has had at least one hit seven of her last eight outings
•    Victoria Ortiz (.318) has recorded at least one hit in 11 of her last 13, while scoring at least one run in nine of her last 12
•    Along with Allen, Ortiz has a pair of home runs and paces the club with nine RBI, while Stagner and Willems have driven in eight apiece
