MOBILE, Ala. | Coming off an impressive weekend, the South Alabama softball team will look to carry the momentum with a midweek road contest against McNeese State on Tuesday Joe Miller Field at Cowgirl Diamond.
South Alabama (4-1) – currently riding a four-game win streak – posted a 4-1 record en route to capturing the Mardi Gras Classic title. The Jags dropped the opening game of the tournament, 3-1 to Missouri State on Friday, but bounced back with four-straight wins tossing back-to-back five-inning, no-hitters over Mississippi Valley State (9-0) and Missouri State (10-0), and then a pair of victories over Rutgers (4-0 and 4-1).

•   South Alabama is looking for just its second series win in Lake Charles with the lone victory coming during the 2018 season
•   Since that 9-6 win in Lake Charles, the Jaguars have won three of the last four in the series
•   A win would bring South one win closer to capturing the program's 500th victory as the Jags enter the contest with 498
•   Lackie (491) is nine strikeouts away from reaching 500 for her career
•   Over the weekend, Lackie was nearly perfect in the circle, posting a 3-0 record and not allowing a run, while striking out 24, holding opponents hit a minuscule .048, and of the 44 batters that she faced only four reached base safely – two hits, a walk and a hit batter
•   She also became the first pitcher in program history to toss back-to-back no-hitters in consecutive outings, throwing a combined no-hitter against Mississippi Valley State and a then a five-inning no-hitter against Missouri State
•   Ortiz (60) enters the midweek contest three extra base hits away from moving into a three-way tie for fifth in the career category
•   Ortiz led the club at the plate with a .462 batting average and a .692 slugging percentage to go along with six runs scored, four RBI and a home run.
•   Keel continued her solid hitting over the weekend as she is now batting .407 and leads the club with four multi-hit outings this springÂ
•   As a team, the Jags are 15-for-16 in steals after going 14-for-14 at the Mardi Gras Classic
•   South Alabama's pitchers haven't allowed an earned run in the last 27.1 innings in the circle
•   Over that stretch, Lackie, Hardy and
Madison Lagle have recorded 24 strikeouts, allowed just nine hits, issued just two walks, a hit batter, while retiring the side in order 11 times
