MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama had three players over 14 points, and the Jaguars had a decisive victory over App State Saturday night at the Mitchell Center, 74-57.
 
Isaiah Moore led the Jags (12-14, 6-8 SBC) with 16 points and three assists. The Mountaineers fell to 14-13, and 7-7 in conference play.
 
Owen White added 14 points on a perfect night, going 5-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 at the free throw line. Donovan Gregory led App State with 14 points, but the Jags' defense limited him to 5-of-15 shooting.
 
GAME FACTS (HOW IT HAPPENED)

• The Jags started hot, building a 20-6 lead with 9:25 to go in the first half.
• Moore led the Jags with 10 points in the first half, and the team had a 14-point lead at halftime, 40-26.
• South Alabama shot 70.8% in the first half, including 13-17 from 2-point range.
• South Alabama maintained their lead early in the second half, leading 46-33 at the under-16 media timeout.
• Judah Brown stepped in the passing lane and got the steal and breakaway dunk to give the Jags their first 20-point lead in the game at 60-40 with just under nine minutes to play in the game.
• The score was never closer than 15 for the rest of the game, as the Jaguars had control from start to finish.

 
NOTES

• This was the fourth game out of five where the Jags never trailed.
• South Alabama went a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line.
• The Jaguars recorded 42 points in the paint, second-highest in conference play (46 vs. Troy, at Arkansas State).
• This is the first time this season, and first time since January 2022 that the Jags shot better than 70% in a half.
• Kevin Samuel had his seventh game this season with four or more blocks.

Head Coach Richie Riley:
"Our group was really disappointed, they were down after the game [on Thursday]. So, a lot about hoops and a lot about life is how you bounce back when you get knocked down. That was the challenge for our team, and they bounced back. They showed some real resiliency. We knew we were playing a really good team in App State, and we came out with the mentality to be the aggressor. We did that, we got an early lead and built on it…We played maybe our most complete game on both sides, offensively and defensively…I'm proud of our guys, that was a really good win."
