Jaguars close road slate at Coastal on Thursday, host Texas State on Sunday

MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama hits the road for the final time of the regular season, traveling to Coastal Carolina before coming home on Sunday to host the Texas State Bobcats.
 
Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+ and Live Stats will be available.
 
South Alabama enters this weekend's matches in the rankings for the first time this season, coming in at #25 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll and #24 in the latest NCAA RPI.

  • The Jags are ranked for the first time this season, at #25 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll.
  • South finished non-conference action 7-0-1, the first time in program history the Jags were undefeated in non-conference games.

  • Gabby Hollar leads the Jags with 10 goals on the year.
  • With an assist in South Alabama's 5-0 win over Louisiana, Gracie Wilson became the new program leader for career assists with 31. Wilson is tied for fourth on the team this season for assists with five.
  • The Jags lead the SBC in total goals (42), scoring offense (2.80), total points (122) and shots on goal per game (8.14).
  • The Jags are also 9th in the nation in total goals, 4th in GAA (.400), 10th in points per game (8.13), 10th in scoring offense and 4th in goal differential (36).

Coastal Carolina Notes

Texas State Notes
  • Texas State is 7-5-3 on the year, and 2-2-3 in Sun Belt action.
  • The Bobcats tied James Madison in their last match, and will face Old Dominion before coming to Mobile on Sunday.
  • Senior forward Olivia Wright leads the team in goals with five on the year, three of them coming in conference play.
  • Texas State has played three keepers this year, with the main starter being Caitlyn Draper, who has recorded five shutouts this season.
  • Texas State is averaging 1.60 goals per game.
Series History vs. Texas State
  • South Alabama is 8-1-2 all-time vs the Bobcats of Texas State, with the last meeting being a South Alabama 3-0 win over Texas State in San Marcos a year ago.  The lone loss in the series came in 2018, when Texas State beat South 1-0 in Mobile.
