South Alabama SAAC Announces Executive Board for 2023-24 Academic Year

MOBILE – On Thursday, South Alabama's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) announced its Executive Board for the 2023-24 academic year.

Junior Jordan Rosier of the women's basketball team will serve as the SAAC president, with volleyball sophomore Anna Loberg serving as the vice president. Rounding out the rest of the six-member executive team is Joseph Sullivan, a junior on the baseball team, who will serve as the campus engagement chair, with women's basketball sophomore Kelsey Thompson as the community engagement chair. Volleyball senior Paige Lynn is SAAC's communications chair and Icie Cockerham from women's golf is the legislation chair.

"My goal as SAAC president this year is to lead and inspire student-athletes to use their voice," said president Rosier. "I want everyone to feel like they have a role in SAAC, and I want all of our athletes to feel heard. A big goal of mine is to also get more involved in the community and on campus. We have a support system from both and it is important that we take time this year to give back and show our gratitude and appreciation. I am super excited to continue to move SAAC in the right direction this year as the SAAC president as we are rebuilding our brand and culture at South Alabama."

SAAC is a student-led service organization created to provide leadership opportunities to those student-athletes who desire to create an impact beyond intercollegiate competition. The organization promotes the betterment of student-athletes throughout the athletics department, the campus, the Mobile community, the Sun Belt Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletics Association. The
following priorities are the foundation for South Alabama SAAC.

A. Provide a forum for student-athletes to share ideas on how to augment the student-athlete experience
B. Represent the student-athlete voice in discussions with athletics department, University, and sport governing body leadership
C. Establish initiatives to encourage student-athlete participation in campus and community service
