NOTES & QUOTES

–After opening the season with four of six games on the road, including two in a row and three of the last four, South Alabama will close the season with home games in four of its final six contests. The matchup with Southern miss will mark the first of two-straight home games for the Jaguars.

–Wide receiver Caullin Lacy has proven to be one of the best wide receivers in the country this season. Through six games, Lacy has 723 receiving yards, which marks third in the nation, first in the Sun Belt and first among all Group of Five receivers. Lacy also ranks fifth in the country in receiving yards per game (120.5), eighth in all-purpose yards (841), 10th in receiving touchdowns (6) and 10th in receptions (39).

–South Alabama head coach Kane Wommack graduated from Southern Miss. Wommack helped the Golden Eagles to three straight bowl appearances before earning his undergraduate degree in political science in 2009. Cornerbacks coach Jay Hopson was also the head coach at Southern Miss from 2016-20.

"I think our guys did a great job this past week to responding to some of the adversity we've had in the last two games. Certainly came out with great urgency in a place that we've never won before and really kind of put the hammer down. The key is going to be continuing to do those things."

-Head Coach Kane Wommack on the team's bounce-back win over ULM

"I saw our guys just play consistent ball for four quarters. I saw a lot of good execution. Saw good effort. We talked this morning about going on the road, and taking care of the ball. Great effort down the field, created some explosives."

-Offensive Coordinator Major Applewhite on the offense's big day at ULM

"We executed. I thought we played physical. Guys were assignment sound and played with good eyes. Some of the things that have hurt us in the past, ULM tried early. Double break routes, some of the same things that James Madison did to us were in those first 20 plays. It was good to see our guys come out and execute and start out as well as we did.

-Defensive Coordinator Corey Batoon on the defense's dominance against ULM
