MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama kicks off Sun Belt play this weekend as they host Georgia State Sunday afternoon at The Cage. Both teams are 4-1-3 on the season.
 
The Jags are 14-5-3 all-time in Sun Belt openers and 5-1 under head coach Richard Moodie.
 
South currently leads the series against Georgia State 14-3-2 and has won two of the last three matchups and 12 of the last 14.
 
The Jags tied Lamar 0-0 last Thursday night and suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday at No. 21 Texas A&M.
 
Georgia State defeated Presbyterian last Thursday night and tied Mercer 2-2 on Sunday.
 
Sunday's match will be "Youth Day" and there will be a vuvuzela giveaway (while supplies last) and a post game autograph session with the team.

• Wilson was named Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and Gayle was named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

• Elena Diaz and Maddie Johnston lead the Panthers with three goals and seven points each.
• Jag keeper Jaidy Gutierrez Campos has recorded five shutouts on the season and has a .75 GAA.

• Monique Gray is ranked first in the SBC in goals with five. She is tied with Megan Brouse of Coastal Carolina. Gray and Brouse also lead the SBC in total points with 11 each.
• Sunday's match will be just the second game of the season at The Cage.
