After a week off following the October 1 game on the road, South Alabama returns home on October 15 for homecoming against ULM.
 
The Warhawks were picked last in the revamped Sun Belt Conference West Division this season under head coach Terry Bowden. They return four All-Sun Belt picks from last season and two players named to the preseason team this year.
 
ULM will look to get back to the postseason under Bowden in his second year and have made one bowl appearance in school history (2012) although they have been bowl eligible five times including in 2018.
 
The Warhawks open the season on the road against Texas on September 3 before their first home game against Nicholls the following week, and a trip to No. 1 Alabama on September 27. They open conference play against Louisiana on September 24.
 
They return Boogie Knight (graduate) at receiver and Calum Sutherland (sixth year) at kicker after both earned Third Team All-Sun Belt last season and were named Preseason All-Sun Belt this year.
