NOTES
Â
– The contest against Coastal Carolina will mark the first Sun Belt Conference contest for South Alabama in 2025. The Jags have won two of their last-three conference openers, including last-year's 48-14 victory over App State in Boone.
Â
– South Alabama enters Saturday's game against Coastal Carolina on a two-game losing streak. The Jaguars will look to snap that streak and avoid losing three straight for the first time since the 2021 campaign. Under
Major Applewhite, South Alabama has always responded to consecutive losses with a victory.
Â
– Coastal Carolina will be the first of two Sun Belt Conference Eastern Division opponents USA will play this year, the other being Georgia State. South has split its eastern division matchups each of the last two years, and last went 2-0 against the east in 2022 with wins over Georgia Southern and Old Dominion.
Â
– Wide receiver
Devin Voisin ranks third in the nation with four touchdown catches through three weeks of football. Voisin scored just one touchdown in 2023 and 2024 combined due to a season-ending injury and rehab.
Â
– South Alabama safety
Ty Goodwill leads the nation in pass breakups this season. Goodwill recorded four PBU's in South's season-opener against Morgan State, and added one against Tulane.
Â
– Quarterback
Bishop Davenport is operating the USA passing attack at an efficient level, currently connecting on .734 percent of his pass attempts. That percentage ranks ninth among all college quarterbacks.

Will Windham on his takeaways from the Auburn game
Â
