Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On Tyler Lehrmann:
"I thought (Tyler) Lehrmann was really good, and he showed poise. He was competitive, his changeup was good and he moved his fastball around. It's easy to be competitive when things are going your way. And Lehrmann just competed through some (defensive) mistakes, and just kept throwing."
- On the nine-run seventh inning:
"The game is cruel, but you just have to keep showing up and giving your best effort, and that's what our guys do. As long as we keep getting good pitching and defense, offense comes and goes. We have a very capable offense. Our guys get in there and give you some very professional at-bats. We have some veterans who have been around the block. I thought Arkansas State's starting pitcher (Will Nash) was pretty good. He had some spin rate to his fastball, he was up and down and you couldn't really fixate on a height. He pitched in a little on the lefties and did a good job. And then in the seventh (inning), that was one of their guys and Tish (Cameron Tissue) opened up the inning with a double and we were off and running. I'm proud of our guys' effort."
