LAFAYETTE, La. – The University of South Alabama men's track and field team won its first Sun Belt Conference outdoor title in program history on Saturday, scoring 148.5 points at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
The Jaguar men's squad took the top spot on the podium in three consecutive events to start the day. Christian Ellis claimed his third-straight triple jump title, followed by Francois Prinsloo (discus) and Kyle Rademeyer (pole vault) defending their Sun Belt Conference titles in their respective events. During the evening slate of running events, Kirami Yego won his second gold medal of the meet in the 5000m race and helped the Jaguars maintain first place.
The Jags' women's squad finished sixth at the meet with 59.5 points. Notable performances included Colette Uys and Bodine Degli-umberti in the discus and Adele Magaud in the 5000m.

MEN'S/WOMEN'S FIELD NOTES
- Ellis earned the Sun Belt Conference triple jump title for the third year in a row with a mark of 15.58m.
- Prinsloo (54.67m) reclaimed his discus championship while Sebastian Löschner (52.82m) took third place in the event.
- Rademeyer won the pole vault for the second-straight year in a row after recording a 5.33m mark.
- Dorian Curry jumped 2.08m for fourth place in the high jump.
- Uys won her second medal of the meet, placing third in the discus with a 51.80m mark. Degli-Umberti placed fifth in the after notching a mark of 50.26m.
MEN'S/WOMEN'S RUNNING NOTES
- Yego won the 5000m final with a time of 14:21.24. Teagan Flanagan (14:36.59) and Onesmus Kemboi (14:49.06) took third and fifth, respectively, in the same event.
- Giacomo DeLuca earned his first Sun Belt Conference medal after finishing third in the 1500m (3:52.07).
- Kendal White clocked a time of 52.62 seconds and finished fourth in the 400m hurdles. He now holds the seventh-best time in school history.
- Magaud ran the 5000m in 18:00.51, good enough for fourth place.
- The men's 4x400m medley relay team placed fifth while clocking a season-best time of 3:13.41.

On the conference meet: "It was a great team effort. We had a lot of the men step up. It was great to see them so focused and determined."
On the men's team winning its first SBC title: "The Sun Belt is a very tough league. We have been runner up before and been close in the past. It feels good to finally win it! We just need to build on this and keep getting better."
