LAFAYETTE, La. – The University of South Alabama men's track and field's Sebastian Löschner claimed the Sun Belt outdoor shot put championship while the men's team maintained their lead with 66 points after day two of the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Löschner's victory was the highlight of the day, alongside top-3 finishes by Colette Uys (shot put) and Kiara Risher (high jump).
The USA men's team maintained their lead with 66 points, while the women's team held third place with 39.5 points after the second day of competition
Competition was delayed around 5:15 p.m. due to lightning in the Lafayette area. The evening slate of events resumed around 8:00 p.m.

MEN'S/WOMEN'S FIELD NOTES
- Löschner won the shot put championship while setting a new personal record with a 17.63m mark.
- Uys earned second place in the shot put with a mark of 15.69m.
- Risher recorded a 1.73m height in the high jump, good enough for third place.
- Graham Collins finished fifth in the decathlon after recording 6,174 points and notching top-5 finishes in six out of the 10 events.
- Rocio Chapparro took fifth in the heptathlon, scoring 4,674 points and finishing in the top-5 in three out of seven events.
MEN'S/WOMEN'S RUNNING NOTES
- Freshman Kendal White qualified for the 110m hurdles finals after clocking a preliminary time of 14.34.
- Xavier Rogers clocked a season-best time (48.04) while qualifying for the 400m finals.

The final day of the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships will begin with the men's triple jump tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
