Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the loss:
"Our guys fought like crazy. Eric Lin's numbers don't look good, but I thought he was much better. We had a miscommunication on a fly ball with two outs in the second (inning), and he didn't help his case after that but that would have gotten us out of the inning – a freshman on the road against a very good team. I give Lin credit for keeping his composure and working through that. Our guys hung in there and fought, it's a matter of playing a complete ballgame. We need to pitch better, and I thought Lin went out there and competed, and I thought he deserved a better fate. We've played really good defense this year, and the miscommunication on the fly ball kind of opened the flood gates in the second inning. We were down 10-2 and our guys could have just rolled over, but they kept going hard and that's a good thing. You have no choice but to go hard and keep fighting, and you keep playing until things start going your way. We just have to keep playing hard and showing up. We need to show up again tomorrow and have a great effort. We need to be great on the mound and play great defense, and take advantage of opportunities offensively when they appear tomorrow."
