Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the loss:
"They (Texas State) are a really good club, we knew that coming in. We just didn't get off to a good start. They had 10 hits and we had eight, and we hit another eight balls on the screws but just didn't have a lot to show for it. We had some men on (base), we just didn't get that big hit. But you have to be better on the mound. I give Texas State credit, they hit some good pitches and jumped us early. Boz (Matt Boswell) has been a bulldog for us. I thought he had good stuff and made some mistakes out over the plate, but the wind was blowing out and they got into a couple. And they had four runs on the board (after the first inning) and six through three before we could kind of settle it down and stop it. Sometimes the game is won late, sometimes it's won early and sometimes it's the middle, and tonight it was won early on in the game. But Boswell competed and (Jake) Glenn and (John) Gillis were really good for limited action; they were good out of the bullpen, and they kind of kept things at bay. We had some runners on and threatened a couple of times, but it wasn't our night and it only counts for one (loss) and we'll be back and ready to go tomorrow."
