SENIOR JAGUAR SOFTBALL JOURNALS: ONE MORE TIME AROUND THE BASES WITH CAROLINE NICHOLS

4/18/2022 11:00:00 AM

Six seniors are listed among the 2022 South Alabama softball roster, and each Monday throughout the 2022 season, one will give fans a view through their eyes as they recap the previous week. On tap this week is outfielder Caroline "Pepper" Nichols.

Hey Jag fans, Pepper Nichols here with this week's Jag Journal! Thank you guys for your constant support and I hope you guys are enjoying these journals. Let's get right into this week.

MONDAY
Today is our off day for the week so a lot of us use this day to catch up on school work and rest up after a long weekend of traveling. I personally have an 8 a.m. class and a 1:30 p.m. class that I attend on Monday's. After class I went to Publix to grab my groceries for the week and then headed home for the day to relax.

TUESDAY
I did not have class today so this morning I slept in a little extra. We had team practice in the afternoon followed by a weights session with Coach Lo. After weights I headed home to eat dinner and watch the Braves Game (Fun Fact: I am a die hard Braves fan). They beat the Nationals 16-4 tonight!!

WEDNESDAY
On Wednesday's, I attend my same two classes from Monday. However, this week my afternoon class got cancelled (woohoo!). We had team practice in the afternoon where we went live and worked on situational defense. After practice, I headed home to eat and of course watch the Braves.

THURSDAY – LOUISIANA SERIES – GAME 1
Because Easter is this Sunday, our series starts TODAY!! I normally have a Thursday night class, but I was not able to attend tonight. We all got to the field around 3 p.m. to get dressed and warmed up for the game. The Jags put up four home runs in tonight's game!! Shout out to Victoria [Ortiz], Gabby [Stagner] and Emma [Kropp] for the bombs.

FRIDAY – LOUISIANA SERIES – GAMES 2 AND 3
Today our games got moved into a double header due to incoming weather on Saturday. This morning me and my mom picked up my dad up from the airport and went to eat brunch at Brick and Spoon. After that we went to Publix to grab a few things and then they dropped my off at the field to get ready for warmups. Warmups started around 2 p.m. for our 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. games today. After the games, me and my family came back to my house and ate dinner and watch the rest of the Braves game of course.

SATURDAY
Because our games got moved today has turned into out off day. This morning me and my mom went shopping around for a dress for my graduation pictures. We got back home a little after lunch, just in time to grab some food and watch the Braves game. After hanging out at the house for a little while, my family and I decided to go eat dinner at Half Shell. After dinner, we drove to Mo'Bay Beignets to grab dessert and head home.

SUNDAY – EASTER
Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and spent time with your families. I got to spend Easter with my family before taking my dad to the airport. After that me and my mom used the rest of the day to relax and spend time together.

Thank you guys again for the constant support. We wouldn't be able to do what we love without you guys. See you all soon on Jaguar Field, GO JAGS!!
