HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The University of South Alabama track and field's Kyle Rademeyer broke the program outdoor pole vault record during the Southern Miss Invitational Friday.
Rademeyer won the pole vault while breaking the school record, previously held by Sean Collins (5.53m), with a mark of 5.55m. Three other Jaguars: Evans Finnorn (4.75m), Blake Ellis (4.45m) and Graham Collins (4.30m) finished in the top five in the same event. The women's pole vault squad also had multiple performers in the top five. Alexis Gratia (3.66m) earned her first collegiate victory while Savannah Morgan (3.66m), Bradyn Coarsey (3.21m) and Isabella Baker (3.06m) picked up top-five finishes. As whole, the track and field teams picked up 11 top-five finishes and four victories during the first day of competition.

MEN'S/WOMEN'S FIELD NOTES
- Rademeyer claimed his first pole vault victory of the outdoor season while breaking the program record with a mark of 5.55m.
- Finnorn (4.75m), Ellis (4.45m) and Collins (4.30m) each took a top-five finish in the pole vault.
- Gratia earned her first collegiate pole vault (3.66m) win while Morgan (3.66m), Coarsey (3.21m) and Baker (3.06m) placed in the top five.
- USA swept the top four spots in the men's hammer throw; Quinton Webb (57.88m) earned first place while Viktor Turek (55.71m), Dimitrios Manesiotis (54.84m) and Francois Prinsloo (53.57) placed second through fourth, respectively.
- Manesiotis's hammer throw mark broke his personal record.
- Hanna-Mai Vaikla finished in the runner-up spot in the javelin with a mark of 40.09m while Nichole Harting (38.72m) placed fifth.
- Chrisitan Ellis earned his second win of the outdoor season in the triple jump (15.52m).
