Head Coach Mark Calvi
- On the loss:
"We showed up and played hard, but we didn't play well enough. Our guys competed, but we walked eight, hit a guy and made a couple of errors. We gave them (Southern Miss) nine free passes and we didn't handle the ball well enough. In the two phases that you have to be tight and clean in to win a lot of games and play championship-caliber baseball, we weren't good enough tonight. Sully (Joseph Sullivan) got into one and hit a three-run home run – that was good to see – and we scored some runs. As a unit tonight in all three phases, we didn't do all three well enough as a team. We win and lose as a team, and that's the bottom line. The two phases you have to play well in in order to play championship-caliber baseball, we didn't play well in those two phases tonight so we lost to a good team."
